In extreme cases the individual may have hallucinations and delusions, thus they believe something that is untrue. This is a disorder that generally last a life time, and through the years it could have a devastating affect one’s life. The individual suffering may over time get an increased number of episodes of stronger magnitude, deteriorate relationships with family and friends, have difficulty keeping a steady job and healthy relationship with a spouse. This condition also presents a great strain on the family of an individual with bipolar disorder as they are constantly under stress as a result of the unpredictable behaviour of their loved one. There is no cure to this disease but there various medications available that can help with the symptoms.
